Conse becomes participant of the United Nations' Global Compact

United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, which works toward the vision of a sustainable and inclusive global economy that delivers benefits to people, communities and markets. Network has the mission to promote the United Nations Global Compact's 10 Principles in Georgia, as well as contribute to the implementation of the United Nations' broader development goals. Global Compact Network Georgia was launched in 2016 and includes members from businesses, business associations, civil society and academia. Conse is pleased to be participant of the United Nations' Global Compact and to promote the UNGC's principles in Georgia, as well as contribute to the implementation of the United Nations' broader development goals.

Our Partner, Tamar Mamporia, joins ILAW Network

ILAW Network - the International Lawyers Assisting Workers Network is a membership organization for lawyers who represent labor unions and workers' rights around the world. The key aim of the ILAW Network is to bring together lawyers and academics in order to better represent the rights and interests of workers and their organizations wherever they are. As the nature of work becomes more international, efficient worker representation will necessitate cross-border collaboration among lawyers. Conse is pleased to announce that our Partner, Tamar Mamporia, has joined the ILAW network with the purpose to share its experience and to contribute to the process of ensuring fair treatment and substantive remedies for all workers.

New Gambling Regulations taking Effect in Georgia

In December 2021, fundamental amendments have been introduced to the Law of Georgia on Organizing Lotteries, Games of Chance, and Other Prize Games. The changes become enforceable gradually, some provisions becoming effective on February 1, 2022, and others from March 1, 2022. Following the amendments, additional obligations are imposed on providers of gambling and/or winning games, and certain categories of players become subject to a different legal regime. With this review, we summarize all significant substantive or procedural issues raised by these changes. Detailed newsletter in English to be followed soon.
